So a funny story. Our youngest son went to a birthday party recently, and as soon as he found the tricycle in the backyard there was no separating him from it. He was on it the entire day!
Of course we knew we had to get him one of his own (we’d much rather have him tumbling around with a trike in the backyard than sitting on front of the tele). We ordered one off Amazon a few days later and like we expected, we haven’t been able to get him off it ever since.
Of course that meant we needed to order one for our four year old as well after they started going crazy over it, so now we have two tricycle fiends tearing the house apart. With all the laughter though, we wouldn’t have it any other way.
If you’re looking for something to keep your toddlers busy, we highly recommend getting them a trike. They are not expensive at all, and it gets them out of the house and giving those legs some much needed exercise. Here’s a look at the two we’ve got rumbling through our living room right now:
I bought this one almost as soon as it popped up on my screen, I knew it would be the perfect tricycle for our two year old. He loves monster trucks and he loves blue, plus at $35 it was a no-brainer.
When it arrived it was actually a lot cooler than I had originally thought. It’s got nice big pedals for him to rest his feet, there’s a little storage compartment where he’s been storing all kinds of rocks from the garden, and there’s even a pretend ignition for him to turn on when he gets going.
I think what really makes this one of the best tricycles for a 2 year old though is it’s just really well made in general – nice sturdy and wide tires, grippy handlebars and a nice solid body. It’s been taking the tumbles pretty well so far, so we’re really happy with it.
We bought ours off Amazon – you can click here to read more or order one of your own!
We got this one for our four year old, which has been a huge hit with him and the neighbor’s kids too. It’s a classic radio flyer trike and as their reputation goes, it’s beautifully made. I’d say their models are the best tricycles for 3 or 4 year olds out there today – really affordable and they look great too. I don’t think there’s been a day when the kids haven’t been screaming with laughter in the backyard since we got it.
One really fun thing about it is the steering handle on the back. If we ever walk down to the park, I can keep one hand on it so he doesn’t zoom off (although he usually just asks me to push him anyway). It also gives the other kids something to do, with one of them steering from the back while the other rides. As you can imagine it’s been taking a few hits with the kids going a little crazy, but it’s taken them pretty well – hopefully we won’t need to replace it too soon!
We ordered our radio flyer tricycle straight off Amazon – click here to check this one out and more.
Obviously we don’t have a daughter, but if you do have a girl and are looking for a cool trike this is probably the one we’d get.
It’s the girl version of the Tough Trike we listed above, so it comes in pink and purple and all the same great features – thick durable tires, grippy handlebars and nice big pedals. I don’t think it has the key and ignition or the secret compartment which is a shame, but it still looks like a great product. I’m sure any little girl would love it, and we’ll definitely keep this on our ideas list if we ever need to buy a birthday or Christmas gift for a little two year old.You can get it right off Amazon – click here to check the prices and details.
Like I said, these toys have been a huge hit with our kids, certainly one of their favorites and certainly something that keeps them busy when other kids or friends are around at our house. If you’re looking for something to get them out of the house, this could be exactly what you’re after.
