believe it or don’t: the fern on the right has actually improved in appearance in the last week.

i brought both ferns home at the same time, but the one on the left (known as “happy” in this apartment) stayed where it is in the shade while the one on the right (known as, you guessed it, “unhappy”) was placed on the window ledge. well, i’m guessing that unhappy hates even indirect sunlight through a nasty, almost opaque window, because it went from looking like the most bee-yoo-tee-ful fern ever to, well, worse than it looks in this picture.

why should you care? because my lack of green thumb is genetic. happy mother’s day, mom. i love ya.

my new camera ROCKS (thanks, dad!), but it’s so good and so new that i haven’t figured out completely how it works. please be forgiving of my technique - it’s still early days (and the instruction manuals [plural!] are uber-thick).
